El martes, 15 de marzo de musher John Baker cruzó la meta en Nome, Alaska, para ganar la Iditarod 2011 Sled Dog Race. Baker ganó en un tiempo récord, convirtiéndose en el primer campeón nativo de Alaska desde 1976. trineos tirados por perros temporada está terminando, pero en los últimos meses pocas docenas de las razas se han producido en todo el hemisferio norte de España a Alaska, incluyendo La Gran Odisea, Finnmarksløpet y Yukon Quest.
