Platon Antoniou , Platon, nació en 1968 en Londres, de padre griego y de madre inglesa. Estudió en St. Martin’s School of Art y en el Royal College of Art, donde contó como mentor con John Hind, director creativo de la revista Vogue británica. En el 1992, siendo todavía estudiante, el Vogue británico le premió como el fotógrafo más prometedor, lo que le permitió contribuir con imágenes de moda y retratos con la revista.

Dejó Londres en 1998, después de trabajar varios años para la revista política y de cultura George, fundada por John F. Kennedy Jr., lo que le valió para poder realizar un trabajo sobre las 20 personas más fascinantes de América.

En 2007 fotografió, para la portada del personaje del año de la revista Time, a Vladimir Putin, lo que le valió el primer premio en la categoría de retratos del World Press Photo 2007.

Desde los 90, ha trabajado realizando retratos y trabajo documental para multitud de publicaciones como Time Magazine, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, Vanity Fair, Harpers Bazaar, Esquire, GQ, Newsweek, etc.. Además ha realizado campañas para empresas como Diesel, Wall Street Journal, Motorola, Nike, Converse, Levi’s, IBM, Rolex, Ray-Ban, etc.

Actualmente vive en Nueva York con su mujer y sus dos hijos, donde trabaja en el equipo de The New Yorker.
