Estas son las fotografías de Cara Baer, de Houston Texas. Libros transformados por el tiempo y los elementos, y también por la propia artista hasta convertirse en formas imposibles, alejadas del libro impreso y más cerca de la escultura. Pero no es el objeto mismo la obra final, sino la fotografía que le confiere nuevamente de vida al libro muerto y torturado.
La artista explica que todo comienza del libro que insinúa su camino. Un periodo en una bañera de agua hará que el libro pierda su forma y de inicio al trabajo creativo de trabajar su forma. Finalmente la fotografía en sobrio fondo negro está compuesta tanto de la cuidadosa perspectiva como de los colores y trazos de los papeles que recordarán su origen pero ahora pertenecientes a un contexto completamente diferente.
Cara Baer explica que todo comenzó con el descubrimiento en la calle de las Páginas Amarillas de Huston. Lo que al principio fue un encuentro azaroso se convirtió en una búsqueda consciente de volúmenes, formas y colores.
