Los dioses deben estar locos (The Gods Must Be Crazy), es una película del género humor de 1980 escrita y dirigida por Jamie Uys. Filmada con bajo presupuesto y enteramente en Botswana, la película tuvo éxito y fue seguida de cuatro secuelas.

Argumento
La trama se desarrolla inicialmente con tres historias paralelas que convergen entre sí.
La primera historia es la de un bosquimano llamado Xi que vive con su gente en el desierto de Kalahari, lejos de toda civilización. Xi y su gente son aborígenes inofensivos que viven en una comunidad feliz, sin *******ias y que piensan que los "dioses" proveen de animales, aves y ofidios para su propio sustento.
Un día, una avioneta cruza a baja altura el Kalahari y el piloto deja caer por la ventanilla una botella vacía de Coca Cola. Xi, quien justo va pasando por allí ve caer del cielo la botella, la recoge y la lleva a la aldea.
Para él y los suyos este objeto desconocido es "un regalo de los dioses". Primero todos están interesados y contentos ya que es un material desconocido y pronto se le encuentra variados usos incluyendo como un instrumento musical, pero pronto la botella se convierte en objeto de *******ia y reas nunca antes vividas por ellos, ya que todos la quieren y no hay ninguna más, por lo que Xi decide llevarla al extremo de su mundo conocido, para que no ocasione más disputas y devolvérselas a los dioses.
