Sepultura es una banda brasileña. Fue formada en la ciudad de Belo Horizonte por dos hermanos, Max e Igor Cavalera, que aprendieron a dominar sus instrumentos autodidácticamente: Max la guitarra e Igor la batería, juntándose con algunos amigos del barrio donde vivían, en la dura realidad económica y social de Belo Horizonte, en el estado de Minas Gerais; Paulo Pinto en el bajo y Jairo T en la segunda guitarra.
La banda ha logrado vender mas de 15 millones de discos en todo el mundo. Su estilo ha variado a lo largo de su discografía, incluyendo vertientes como el death metal, el thrash metal, la música industrial y elementos de la música étnica de Brasil.

Morbid Visions (1986) + Bestial Devastation EP (1985) Remastered (http://lix.in/-6f3437)

Morbid Visions es el primer álbum de estudio de la banda, lanzado en 1986 a través de Cogumelo Records. Aunque más tarde, los álbumes de la banda tienen un marco más político, Morbid Visions (el EP Bestial Devastation) se caracteriza por temas "satánicos". La banda dijo que muchas letras se formaron basandose en las de Venom y Celtic Frost, ya que en ese momentono no sabían escribir en Inglés.
El sonido del álbum es death metal y la producción es bastante pobre. No obstante, la colección es considerada por los fans con cariño por su humilde introducción a lo que se convirtió en una influyente banda, y la inclusión de la grabación de la canción, "Troops of Doom".

Schizophrenia es el segundo álbum de estudio, lanzado en 1987 a través del sello discográfico Cogumelo Records.
Éste es el álbum donde debuta el nuevo guitarrista de la banda, Andreas Kisser. El sonido del álbum lidera más la banda hacia el género de thrash metal con respecto a su álbum anterior Morbid Visions, el cual era básicamente un álbum de death metal.

Arise es el cuarto álbum de estudio de la banda que salió a la venta en el año 1991 en la discográfica Roadrunner Records. Este álbum está considerado como uno de los más importantes de la banda brasileña.
Si Beneath The Remains les dio la fama Arise los afianzaría como banda de culto. Sería Arise el que los llevaría al "Rock In Rio 2". Este disco es la culminación del estilo Death/Thrash de la banda.

Chaos A.D. es un álbum publicado en octubre de 1993 en el sello Roadrunner Records. El sonido de este álbum, en contraste con los anteriores trabajos de la banda, es bastante diferente. Este repentino cambio de estilo, desde el thrash metal y el death metal hacia el groove metal, provocó una división de opiniones entre los seguidores de la banda: mientras que algunos pensaban que con su nuevo sonido se habían vendido, otros aceptaron este cambio de rumbo.
