Michel Leroux es un artista canadiense nacido en 1950, estudió artes gráficas y llegó a ser profesor del Institut des Arts Graphiques en Montreal, donde enseñaba caligrafía y perspectiva, pero pronto se aburrió de enseñar y sobretodo de la rigurosidad de su oficio por lo que se dedicó a la libertad que le daba el pincel, en 1985 hizo su primera exposición que le consiguió un anticipado reconocimiento como pintor, ya que sus obras se empezaron a vender bien y a ser solicitadas por coleccionistas. Hasta hace unos años sólo había hecho alrededor de 20 exposiciones en Canadá y USA.

“He escogido pintar el mundo de las plantas, como cualquier otro tema de estudio, porque puedo ubicarlo dentro de un estilo contemporáneo. En mi opinión, este tema tiene una gran fuerza pictórica subestimada. Yo lo veo como una relación con el ser humano y espero descubrir sus más profundos secretos.” cuenta el artista.
