fuck = mierda WTF? fuck means carajo, then fuck you means vete al carajo!!!

F= fornicate
U= under
C= consent of the
K= king
oh k ;)

It's all relative to the context. When the guy yell "fuckkkk" because he is late, it is like yelling "shiiiiit", it has nothing to do with any sexual connotation. But I didn't know "carajo" en espanol, in french we say "merdeeeee" for "shiiiit" or "fuckkk" we can also say "putainnnnn", it all means the same lol

Pro choice or Pro life?

I'm pro choice if the baby is coming out with severe handicaps or when the woman has been raped...

The three ways in which abortion in Colombia are malformation, woman likely to die, and rape... am I right?

AndrewMack

Im agree w/ u Sheldon, if the baby has several deformations or any sickness, i mean, it won't be good for the baby to grow up whit pain, satanding all the critizices and laughs of ignorant people. It's actually a pretty controversial thing and anyone has an own opinion.

This is one of those threads which were "in" when Denunciando started. If you look back in pages, you can see there were many people whose track cannot be found anymore. Hence, the level of popularity in this thread is low. Besides, "estudio y cultura" does not seem to be such an appealing forum on denunciando.

Anywho, it's nice to drop a line once in while here.

Cheers!

Diego San
07-12-2010, 12:15:03
Actually, I think the problem with this kind of threads is that we don't have an specific topic... it would be good having a complete place for English where one can post news, sport threads in english, politic threads in english and so on...

Specific topics have been agreed upon before... but they occur only in the context of THIS thread. It's not like there are sub-forums where English can have its place. It should have one, though.

What about the administrators? Does any of them use English? What do you think their say would be?

For starters, how about just discussing a topic? Let us say...

1. Experience in learning English.
2. Swear words in English or slang we may know and teach each other.

Wilco
08-12-2010, 11:49:16
Ademas, such a section would be nice for non spanish speaking people :D

Rick1

I just found this thread.
to be fair I have only read a few pages but from what I gather it was mostly about people practicing the language and some others correcting them

I agree there needs to be some corrections if someone is lacking in their writing but I also think that it kills the thread when all you read is what seems to be put downs

people stop contributing and just stop coming in altogether because there is no direction either

I think more than picking a specific topic there should be subtopics where people can contribute in different areas being politics, society, technology, sports, economy and such

this has potential people, all we need is to move forward with it

very soon the language will come
nothing better to practice reading and writing and speaking than being able to interact with other and this is an excellent medium

lets take advantage of that and enjoy the thread

if anyone has any questions please go ahead and ask, I am sure there are a few people willing to lend a hand and help out

I know I am

I will leave it as that for the time being and see what the reaction of the people is before continue rambling hahaha
looking forward to seeing this topic revived

do you like sports?

that could be our first try...

another thing we could talk about is the English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, Itep, Mellicet, IELTS, etc

Sorry for being off-topic but i'm angry against my (french) parliament today, they just voted a law that gives the government the right to blacklist any website they want on the internet, just like in China and Iran. Officially it is to fight against paedophilia and cyber-criminality, but in fact they are fighting against internet's wonderful freedom of speech.

I hope this government will go away in 2012 and that the left party takes their place :angry4:

Wilco

The news in english (I hope other democratic countries will not take France as an example for this ! )

"A new episode in French internet legislation — French ministers have passed a bill (http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.lepoint.fr/high-tech-internet/le-gouvernement-pourra-filtrer-internet-16-12-2010-1275995_47.php) (original in French (http://www.lepoint.fr/high-tech-internet/le-gouvernement-pourra-filtrer-internet-16-12-2010-1275995_47.php)) allowing the government to add any website to a black list, which access providers will have to enforce. This black list will be defined by the government only, without requiring the intervention of the legal system. Although originally intended against pedo-pornographic websites, this bill is already outdated, as was Hadopi (http://yro.slashdot.org/story/10/09/24/0942227/In-France-Hadopi-Reporting-Begins-With-Only-10000-IP-Addresses-Per-Day) in its time, and instead paves the way for a global censorship of the 'French internet.'"

btw... I just made this suggestion (http://www.denunciando.com/sugerencias-35/366508-sugerencia.html) and gladly they are going for it, so, hopefully it will help us to increase the participation in English on this website
