Enrique (Eduard Fernández) es un prestigioso psiquiatra; Julia (Irene Visedo), una joven cuidadora del Museo del Prado. Julia está convencida de que ambos son los personajes de una pintura del siglo XVII, y que se han amado con locura hace cuatro siglos. Enrique ve en ella a una joven enferma, y decide convertirla en su paciente. La lucha entre ambos comienza con él tratando de curarla, y ella intentando convencerle de que ambos están destinados a estar juntos de una manera misteriosa e inexplicable por los siglos de los siglos. Uno de los dos, conseguirá su propósito.
