Un hombre jubilado, quiso hacer uso de su dinero ahorrado, por lo que decidió comprar una casa y unos pocos acres de tierra en Portugal.

La modesta granja que decidió comprar había estado cerrada durante 15 años. El propietario y su esposa habían muerto y no hubo herederos. La granja se puso en venta para pagar los impuestos generados durante varios años. En el gran granero había puertas de acero, y estas habían sido soldadas para impedir el paso. Nadie quiso ver lo que había en ese lugar pues ello significaba un gasto adicional por abrir las pesadas puertas, y era complementario a la propiedad de todos modos... Pero aun así, nadie hizo una oferta por el lugar.
El hombre de Nueva York compró en poco más de la mitad del valor real la propiedad, se trasladó, y se dispuso a abrir en el granero, pues sentía cierta curiosidad.
Por lo tanto, él y su esposa compraron un generador, y un par de cortadoras... y se dispusieron a cortar a través de las juntas de soldadura.
