Nos referimos a la nueva edición de Solaris, el sistema operativo de Sun, que lleva el nombre de versión 10 10/09, algo así como “Versión 10 Octubre 2009″ o a lo mejor “Versión 10, 9 de Octubre”. Si me preguntan a mí, es un poco raro el nombre y yo habría optado por 10b, 10SE, 10.5, pero, en fin, lo importante es lo que ofrece.

Esta nueva versión trae mejor soporte para procesadores Intel, AMD y Sparc, mientras que ofrece mejoras a nivel de rendimiento y de eficiencia energética. El proceso de instalación es más amigable y expedito, y se incorporan también varios parches para Solaris ZFS -que es al mismo tiempo sistema de archivos y de gestor de unidades lógicas- incluyendo el uso de discos SSD y unidades flash para datos, transacciones y caché.

Procesador de 120 MHz o más rápido.
