La Destruccion de Varvarin (Ex-Yugoslavia)

En mayo de 1999 La OTAN declaró que cuatro aviones atacaron el puente sobre el Velika Morava en Varvarin. Una obra con "armas de precisión". La Alianza designó el puente como objetivo legítimo. Su portavoz Jamie Shea dijo: "La OTAN no ataca objetivos civiles, atacamos exclusivamente objetivos militares y tomamos todo tipo de precauciones para evitar daños a civiles".

La OTAN atacó a las 13:00 horas locales en domingo. Tanjug dijo que el área estaba abarrotada de personas que iban al mercado del pueblo. Los testigos afirmaron que cuatro coches se cayeron al río Velika Morava durante la primera ola de ataques, mientras que los rescatadores fueron alcanzados en una segunda oleada de ataques. El área acabó regada de sangre y restos humanos.
