Kittie es el cuarteto de death metal, goth y glam rock formado en London, Canada por Morgan Lander y Fallon Bowman (guitarras, vocales), Talena Atfield (bajo) y Mercedes Lander (batería). Las cuatro se conocieron en 1997 en la escuela. Fallon Bowman y Mercedes Lander descubrieron que las dos tenían una gran afinidad por el grunge en la clase de gimnasia, así que solían reunirse en el sótano de la residencia Lander para probar el sonido de sus instrumentos, un día la hermana mayor de Mercedes, Morgan bajo las escaleras, tomó el microfono y nació Kittie.



http://www.metalmartyr.com/files/2007/08/kittie.jpgEn 1999 firmaron con Ng/Artemis Records despues de grabar un demo con covers de Nirvana, Silverchair y hasta de Corey Hart . Su disco debut "Spit", producido por GGGarth, con un sonido áspero que recuerda a Godsmack o a L7, fue lanzado a finales del mismo año.
