Tankard / speed*thrash metal
 

Tankard es el nombre de una banda de de Frankfurt, Alemania, fundada en 1982. Después de perder a su guitarrista gracias a su imagen de un montón de borrachos, tuvieron que lanzar su primera grabación hasta 1986. Desde ese entonces la banda continuamente ha hecho canciones con el mismo estilo, canciones de metal rapidas en honor al alcohol. Ellos claman haber inventado un nuevo genero, "Alcoholic Metal". Ellos se auto-proclaman "Kings of Beer" (Reyes de la Cerveza) en honor al personaje folcklorico Gambrinus.
