Lo otro que vale la pena aclarar es que la persona que aparece en estas fotos no es un "man", sino una mujer transexual, que son quienes nacieron en el cuerpo de un hombre y luego decidieron compaginar su apariencia física con su intimidad de mujer por medio de tratamiento hormonal y procedimientos quirúrgicos, todo lo cual es reconocido por la ley colombiana, permitiéndoles cambiar en la cédula el género. Así, esta mujer transexual, en sus documentos de identificación tiene el derecho de poner en su género el femenino y como tal ser reconocida como mujer para todas las cuestiones legales y sociales al igual que una mujer biológica.

Distintos son los casos de por ejemplo los transformistas que por razones artísticas cambian su apariencia de hombre para un espectáculo, o los travestis que se disfrazan de mujer transitoriamente porque les gusta, pero siguen conservando en su vida diaria la apariencia de hombre.
