Sinopsis:
Marcus (Curstis "50 Cent" Jackson) sabe que acabará siendo un rapero, pero cuando asesi-nan a su madre empieza a trapichear con dro-gas para pagar el alquiler. Cuando entra en una creciente espiral de violencia, los únicos que le obligan a mantener un semblante de cordura son su abuela (Viola Davis), su novia Charlene (Joy Bryant) y su amigo Bama (Te-rrence Howard), tan violento como leal. Marcus empieza a escribir con la misma intensidad maníaca con la que vende drogas y no tar-da en descubrir que las palabras le ayudan a no volverse loco. Du-rante años, aguanta este infierno hasta que una tragedia en la que está a punto de morir le obliga a cambiar de vida.
