Sinopsis:

Inglaterra, siglo XIII. Robin, un magnífico arquero al servicio del rey Ricardo, lucha contra las tropas francesas. Cuando Ricardo muere, Robin se traslada a Nottingham, encontrándose una ciudad dirigida por un “sheriff” corrupto que exige impuestos exorbitante s. Allí se enamora de lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), una viuda con carácter que no acaba de creerse la motivación del cruzado de los bosques. Con la esperanza de ganarse el corazón de la dama, Robin reúne a un grupo de letales mercenarios, encabezando una rebelión contra la corona que alterará para siempre el equilibrio del poder. Juntos empiezan a hostigar a los representan te de la corona para corregir las injusticias y la corrupción cometidas bajo el mando del “sheriff”. En un país debilitado por una larga guerra, regido por un rey débil y poco eficaz contra las rebeliones internas y las amenazas externas, Robin y sus hombres se dejan llevar hacia una aventura mayor. El soprendente héroe y su banda deciden impedir que el país caiga irremediabl emente en una sangrienta guerra civil, y devolver la gloria a Inglaterra.
