Sinopsis:

Un buen día, la señorita Shepherd (Maggie Smith), una mujer de orígenes inciertos, aparca su furgoneta en una acera de Londres, en el acceso a la casa del escritor Alan Bennett (Alex Jennings). Lo que al principio iba a ser algo temporal, un favor a regañadientes, se acaba convirtiendo en una relación que cambiará las vidas de ambos.
